CASH FOR COMMENT Or event or score. Today I wan CASH FOR COMMENT

Or event or score.

Today I wanted to invite your ideas thoughts and feedback.

Do you know when a wine review or article, or event is paid for by the winery?

Does that change your perception of what is written, the score, or the event?

And do you think most consumers aware of the practice?

I was surprised to find that a lot of articles in wine mags and a lot of public tasting events are paid for by the wineries involved. And the fees these wineries pay make the eyes water. This essentially excludes all but the larger wineries with hefty marketing budgets.

I’m keen to know, how does this make you feel? What are your thoughts here?

The thought-provoking name of ‘Chalk Hill Blue Bubbles’ by Angoves Family Winemakers based in Renmark, the Riverland. NV.

*AROMA*

Simple flowers.
Sherbet.

*TASTING NOTE*

Thankfully not as sweet as expected.
Citrus core of fruit. Moderate acidity. Finishes with sweetness of fruit.
Lacks complexity but fits the bill of being a fresh and refreshing frizante.

*CLOSURE*

Screwcap.

Vineyard and winemaking info not available.

Can’t argue with that view though, or the snack-induced momentary serenity.
Label Love Alert 😍 ‼️ And cute half sized Label Love Alert 😍 ‼️

And cute half sized bottle.

Wait while I steal a sip while Rob is outside….

Nutty, Fino Sherry-esque on the nose.

Juicy acid but soft mouthfeel thank to the Fumé winemaking style. Very drinkable even though the bottle had been open for quite a while.

It’s clear out Saturday, Rob’s cracking bottles he opened with Coravin months ago, and other things opened for his MW studies.

What’s in your glass?

JAPAN. IN. A. BOX. We have been absolutely lovin JAPAN. IN. A. BOX.

We have been absolutely loving our subscription to #sakuraco - a superb Japanese subscription box.

Each box highlights a different one of Japan’s 47 prefectures, and occasionally celebrates a season.

The October ‘Ibaraki’ Harvest box was beautifully packaged and filled with top quality sweet and savoury snacks as well as a lovely little bowl.

The snacks were very unique and from specialty artisan producers.

The high quality booklet and videos introduced us to family businesses and lots of information about Ibaraki prefecture, which we have not visited before.

Highly recommend - not a paid ad, we just get so much enjoyment from it.

Winter’s chill begone.

This early bird happily warms up of a morning with a bowl of Goldenvale Honey Oats.

How do you do your bowl of oats?

I top mine with Hemp Seeds, maple syrup, cinnamon and Peanut Butter. So delicious!

My vote in the Early Bird category is Oh So Natural Peanut Butter. Add it to oats, slather into toast, drizzle on waffles. A protein boost with no additives.

My vote goes to the Cheese Streamers. Real cheese made fun and portable for those days when you can’t even chop up some cheese and find a container your child’s preferred colour. These peelable winners are adventure ready.
