Sneaking into a factory after dark must be on plenty of bucket lists. Well our group of Elite Yelpers can cross it off after this behind the scenes look into what it takes to make those crispy golden Tuckers Natural Crackers.
Sam Tucker, company founder himself donned the hairnet and showed us through the immense factory building. Marketing manager Catherine and Production Manager Audrey explained the machinery and new #CrackerUp club too.

Cracker factories smell AMAZING! Like baking bread. A lot of the work is done manually by hand – these are truly small batch, artisan crackers.
South Aussie ingredients are prioritised. Where they’re unavailable, Aussie ingredients are the next selection, and if there is still a need, they opt for Australian Owned companies. Onya!

Then to taste! The Supergrains are staples in our household, as well as the long poppy seed crackers. But I’d never built my platter from the cracker up.

There are even suggestions to pair your platter to wine and music. On the evening of the tour, wines were thanks to Alise from Hart of the Barossa.

Wine matches included Hart of the Barossa 2007 Semillon – with lovely secondary marmalade-on-toast characters with the acid still there but mellowed to match well with Brie & ashed Brie.
Hart of the Barossa Alicante Bouchet had grippy tanins – a grown up rose indeed.
