5 days to go.
And we are so counting!
This is a pre-holiday tribute to our Italian adventure (with the Mediterranean thrown in at the end for good measure).
Pasta a-bubbling in the pot, Kangarilla Creamery sheeps curd on hand, Mr Wino cracks a special bottle.
So classically Italian with it’s fine acid-tannin balance and the hint of dustiness on the nose.
La dolce vita indeed!
Plus, we will be passing right through Monforte d’Alba – staying there in fact in the very cool hotel Saracca.
Well Looky Here
Purple black with crimson rim.
Clear and bright.
Sniff Sniff
After eight years of being locked up this puppy needs a few minutes to breathe. After a few deep breaths, we are rewarded.
Licorice, rich stewed plums, pinch of baking spice. Sweet and rich with a dusty floral note, like nanna’s decades old bowl of pot pourri.
Sip Sip
Plush and mouth filling with plums stewed with a few brighter raspberries. Then you notice the crisp acidity, and almost immediately after, the nice drying tannins right in the middle of your tongue. Finally, you are hit with that dusty bowl of nanna’s pot pourri at the back of your throat.
More, give me more!
