Meal
Smelling like delicious bakery treats, were were offered a “pizza calabrese” or a chicken sandwich.
Easy decision – especially as I’m a vego!
With a recycled cardboard box, we were off to a good start, and the words Hot Gourmet Bakery Delights causing my mouth to water.
Inside, was a pizza – pie hybrid.
It looked great, as did the chocolate fudge bar, with the two separated by a fold of cardboard. Neat.
The pizza had a deep dish styled, but thin crust, covered generously with a layer of semi dried tomato, capsicum, tomato paste, and dried herbs.
This was topped with a layer of herbed cous cous, which was topped with a thin layer of nicely browned cheese.
It was hot, fresh, lighter than a traditional pizza, vegetarian, and completely delicious!
Wait – there is more.
An individually wrapped (in paper) choc fudge bar was for afters. It tasted like a cross between a brownie and moist cake. Yummy too, not too sweet.
I was happy to see that the ingredient list showed not too many nasties or preservatives as well.
Overall I was really impressed by this snack. It was substantial but light at the same time, delicious, vegetarian and came with a dessert as well.
