Wines of Waywood Wines Cellar Door – McLaren Vale

McLaren Vale’s second newest cellar door has a lot to offer the wine lover.

Having already operated for years without a cellar door, you can now do a comprehensive tasting at weekends through the three ranges at Waywood – Quattro, Varietal and Years.

Quattro Bianca Adelaide Hills 2014

As the name suggests, is a blend of four varieties:

  • 50% Pinot Gris,
  • 15% Chardonnay,
  • 15% Verdhelo, and,
  • 20% Semillon.

Bright red fruits, with a dash of powdered spice.

Monte makes for a savoury style and  nice acid line. Monte grows well in the Vale, and this is a great food wine.

The 96 series of wines are made from the best barrels from the rest of the winemaking.

In a touch of Vale romance, the name “96” for the Years series represents the year that Lisa and Andrew married.

I love it.

The Vale is definitely a very romantic place to live and love!

We really enjoyed the wines on tasting at Waywood WInes. They are good value, high quality and it is a wonderfully relaxed environment at cellar door to have a tasting and a bite to eat. Just wait for the verandah to be enclosed!
