They say good things come in small packages.
That is always true when it comes to chocolate.
A cute-as-a-button chocolate shop opened on High St Willunga on Saturday and did a brisk trade.
With a little servery window and two window seats, you could also perch and enjoy your treat onsite.
Native ingredients and unusual combinations are the signature style of the beautifully decorated, hand made chocolates.
Black Olive and Fleur de Sel dark chocolate blocks ($10) caught my eye.
As well as that there are filled donuts ($5), brownies ($4) and cookies that smelt so good it took all my self control not to take the cookie from the cook-cookie jar!
In the cabinet is the large array of chocolates, priced at $2.50 each.
Today I opted for two dark chocolates.
Raspberry and Lychee (dark) finished in your choice of pink or blue.
Olive Oil, Cardamon & Lime (dark).
The Raspberry and Lychee filling is not too sweet and silky smooth, and a warmth in the aftertaste at the back of the throat.
The Olive Oil, Cardamon & Lime (dark) is fragrant with cardamon. The spice is beautifully balanced in two layers of silky ganache. Again, not too sweet, which is my preference.
So I encourage you to visit McLaren Vale like a local, and sample the goodies at Four Winds Chocolates.
